Three ways to stop,
To observe and rediscover the world.
Experiences that connect people, places, and nature.
Guided Garden Tours
Inviting wonder, Aliveness proposes visits in small groups – a maximum of fifteen participants – to gardens that are part of our heritage: places of memory, on guided tours that reveal the invisible side of cities. An appeal to slow down, to look again and listen to plants that tell us stories.
By combining heritage, botany, and art, each guided tour of the garden becomes a return to our childhood home, an enjoyment of the present, and a bet on the future.
Our guided garden tours last two hours and are always shared group experiences (max. 15 participants). The cost of entrance tickets to gardens, museums, or other monuments is not included in the price of the guided tour.
Calouste Gulbenkian Park and Museum
To connect the natural world outside to Mr. Calouste Gulbenkian's unique art collection, a museum was built in the middle of a magnificent park designed by the most famous Portuguese landscape architects: Gonçalo Ribeiro Telles – winner of the Sir Geoffrey Jellicoe Prize – and António Viana Barreto. From the garden, planned to promote a rich symbiosis between art and nature and where each plant was chosen for a reason, we proceed to the museum.
Art meets nature, nature is art: treasures from Egypt, Turkey, Chinese porcelain, French marquetry, and artists such as Monet, Renoir, Rembrandt, Fantin-Latour, Turner, or Rodin... Lalique provides the finishing touch. We visited the museum under the motto "Nature in art: a journey through time".
City Tour
Starting in the heart and landmark of Porto, the Clérigo Tower, we will stroll through breathtaking panoramic views, gardens and historic neighborhoods, absorbing the way of life of the locals.
Our steps will take us back to the 19th century and the first Industrial Exhibition in Portugal: the iconic gardens of the Crystal Palace.Serralves Garden
In the 18 hectares of Serralves, the last recreational estate in Porto, we stroll amidst lush vegetation interspersed with magnificent architecture. From the geometry of the Art Deco house and the beautiful formal gardens designed by Jacques Gréber to the luminous façade of the Museum of Modern Art by Siza Vieira: "a rich and dynamic mosaic" of different worlds with enormous biodiversity awaits us.
Arrábida Mountain Range
Awarded the title of one of the most beautiful bays in the world, Setúbal has a unique location between the Arrábida mountain range and the Atlantic Ocean. Our visit begins at the City Hall. Immersed in an atmosphere of poets, music, and dedicated fishermen, we head towards a beautiful living fossil: the Ginkgo biloba trees have been part of our world for 200 million years. Much more recent, dating from the 16th century, the Church of the Convent of Jesus awaits us with its marvelous tiles and columns. And after visiting the best fish market in Portugal, we end our tour where life began: by the Sado River.
City Tour
In the vast plains of Alentejo, Évora is poetry and "frescoes": beautiful painted walls, beloved even in the time when this region was the granary of Rome. It was also the summer resort of the Avis Dynasty, the University, and the seat of the Holy Inquisition Tribunal... and even the setting for an agrarian reform in the 1970s.
Our route takes us from the exotic gardens of the Palace of King Manuel I to the heart of Évora: the Roman temple, the cathedral façade, and a visit to what was once the castle: the Courtyard of St. Michael, with fantastic 16th-century frescoes and breathtaking panoramic views. And if you haven't experienced the garden of the Painted Houses, you can't really say you know Évora.

Companies in Action
Every company is a world within a world. Made up of people, each with their own unique qualities. At Aliveness, we may not be business experts, but we know that happy employees tend to be more productive. While we can't promise you happiness, our goal is to develop critical thinking skills, bring together different areas of knowledge, and create connections with what makes us human.
Reconnecting with our natural heritage, reinforcing our sense of belonging. Joining the Aliveness project is a commitment to a more sustainable, just and harmonious future. Furthermore, it is an investment in ESG: environmental, social and governance, in accordance with the EU Green Deal – "reconciling the economy with the future of the planet" (11.12.2019).
Seeds of the Future
Are you ready for the world?
Investing in children and young people is investing in the future. Alivness aims, with joy and expertise, to carry out educational activities that allow them to develop a sense of identity and belonging through observation and reflection on the living beings that surround us. We will work with schools, student associations, colleges and municipalities.
We want to count on the support of companies that are committed to building a more sustainable and just future. For participants over 7 years old, Aliveness activities will take place in the school playground or in a public garden. We want to awaken curiosity and wonder. We invite students to stop, feel and listen: wind, traffic, birdsong… Through games and improbable questions: what is a tree, how many hearts does an earthworm have? Why does a snail carry its house on its back?
These are moments of discovery that connect science, creativity, and affection. Because learning to observe nature is also learning to care for it and for ourselves.
For international master's or Erasmus students, we recommend Aliveness Belém: a 3-hour guided tour starting at 9:45 am, including the Monument to the Discoveries, the Imperial Garden, and the Tropical Botanical Garden.
